Apple just launched a less expensive version of their popular iMac computer with a price tag of $1,099, this version comes in $200 cheaper than their other iMac models. Of course with a less expensive option you will lose some aspects of the original model, but this new iMac does have a 1.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive and Intel HD Graphics 5000 on board. The specs definitely do not blow you away but will easily satisfy the needs of the average computer user.
If you decide to purchase this newer model the configuration options will allow you to minimally upgrade storage and , which makes you question whether the $200 more is worth it for a quad-core Intel processor, a 1TB drive and Intel Iris Pro graphics and a machine with more upgrade options. If you are a student or on a budget the new iMac would absolutely be worth a look, but if you can afford the extra $200, do it; you’ll get quite a bit more for your money.
