Are We Witnessing The Death Of The Video Game Console?

It’s hard to imagine nerds all over the world living in a time when video games won’t be wanted anymore. It’s hard to imagine those nerds finding other ways for entertainment. But, pundits have claimed that the end of video game consoles is soon. They predict the death of consoles all over the world. IGN disagrees with these claims whole-heartedly.

While the facts are there, that in a few years our technology will be so advanced we won’t want video game consoles, IGN can’t bear the thought of consoles disappearing! Between Sony and Microsoft, a total of 10 billion dollars has been lost since the year 2000. Since then, producers of the consoles predicted that they would be the devices through which we experienced all entertainment. They even predicted that it would be the way we would choose to communicate with each other. Today, they don’t have the same optimistic outlook. They know that we are far over due for a new way to play video games. Sadly, companies like Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo just don’t have the money to create more impressive consoles. But, are they really stretched to their limit? Is it time for the world to finally bow down to Apple and accept them as the leader in tech-entertainment? I don’t think so. Video game companies are smart and I’m sure they can think of something that would impress everyone! But, until then, it’s back to the drawing board.
