Charge your iPad wirelessly with a magnetic stand

One of the coolest ideas in tech tends to be the ability to charge devices without plugging them in. Induction technology was really very big at CES, and it seems that every device on the planet was being charged without plugs in Las Vegas this year. There is a new system that accomplishes this for the iPad, the LaunchPort.

It comes with a case called as PowerShuttle. This PowerShuttle can be fixed on iPad as a case. The PowerShuttle needs to be fitted on a station. Station can be selected by the user as per his interest and requirement between Tabletop Base Station and a Wall Station.

Induction isn’t super new tech, and I’m pretty sure you all know how it works – electricity passes through a magnetic field and is generated across a conductor. For the LaunchPort, the electricity passes through the case, and charges the iPad.

The technology hasn’t really been adopted in a majority of products straight from the manufacturer. The Palm Pre was capable of charging in one of it’s Touchstone bases, but most manufactures have stuck with corded charging.

The magnetic stations for the iPad are pretty sweet, and the case amplifies the sound forward, instead of against the wall. Check out the video, and visit launchport.com for more information.
