Ditto Gives Companies Social Media Insights

We’re sharing 750 million photos a day on Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram. Does that surprise you, or does it sound about right? It’s no secret that uploading, liking, and passing along favorite photos online have become part of our everyday social media life. And chances are, a lot of those photos have companies’ brands in them. If a company could somehow find those photos, those snapshots of real consumers’ lives could give them information about who is using their brand, what they think about it, and whether it’s garnering a positive or negative reaction.

Now, a company called Ditto is helping companies put those photos to use with its proprietary visual recognition engine. By utilizing Ditto, a company can:

  • Discover how their products are used
  • Find their influencers
  • Measure social media ROI (return on investment)
  • Uncover brand affinities

The company claims that other current social listening tools aren’t designed to analyze photos, and they miss 85 percent of photos with logos in them. Ditto is different, because unlike their competitors—Radian6, Sysomos, and Wildfire—it’s especially designed to pick up this important photo info.
