Google Docs for Android Adds Rich Text Formatting & Live Collaboration

The wait is finally over and it was well worth it. Today Google released an update to its Google Docs app that is available for Android phones and tablets. The app now allows for rich text formatting and much more.

As you can see in the pic on the left they have also added the ability for the app to have real time collaboration. When you and another are both editing a document together you will see their cursor on the screen of where they are editing. Not only will you see the cursor but you will see their updates show up live.

This brings the cloud service to the next level in allowing you to create and collaborate on more complex documents on the go.  As shown in the video you can create a fantastic document with others in a matter of minutes. The app allows you to quickly share the doc with others so that they can only view it or edit the document right away.

You can pinch to zoom on the document to adjust the document so the viewing is just right for you. With colors, bullets, live collaboration and much more. I would say it just reached “app of the year” status.
