The main feature that iOS users were lacking from Google+ that Android user already had is the ability to have your photos instantly uploaded to your Google account. A new Google+ app update now allows this to be possible.
When you first open the app and log into Google+ it will ask you if you want to turn on Instant Upload and how you would like your photos to uploaded. Once this has been enable your photos will now automatically upload to a private album on your Google+ account.
Google notes,
Instant Upload is only active while the Google+ iOS app is open, and for a brief period after you close it. Re-opening the Google+ app resumes your photo & video uploads exactly where they left off.
If you are concerned about these photos taking up your Picasa Web album space there is no need to worry. Photos up to 2048 x 2048 and videos of up to 15 minutes won’t count towards your free storage. Read more here.
Other new features of this update are:
- The What’s Hot stream
- Shake your phone to send feedback
- Various bug fixes and performance improvements
