The title says it all. I just don’t use my iPhone as much as I used to. It’s not that it’s any less cool, but I think the novelty of it has worn off for me somewhat. When I first got my iPhone 4 (just over a year ago), I was in love. I felt like the emperor with his new clothes-I downloaded apps I needed (and a lot of apps I didn’t need), was constantly playing games, checking Facebook, email, Tweeting like a madman…you get the picture. I was on my way to becoming an Apple fanboy.
Then that fire just died. I’m not sure what happened, to be honest. It died about 6 months ago. I stopped playing games on my phone. I stopped tweeting. I stopped taking my phone out of my pocket, holding it in my hand and whispering “My Preciousssss.” To be completely honest, all I use my iPhone for now is texting and calling. Occasionally I’ll check Facebook or my email, but that’s about it. And this is coming from a guy who was always downloading the latest gaming app, dominating people on Words With Friends, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, the iPhone is still the best phone out there (in my opinion). It has just lost its appeal for me, and to be honest, that makes me a little sad. I wish I could find that fire again, but I’m just not sure what would do it for me. In the meantime, AT&T keeps me from becoming a rich man.
