One month ago, I wished for an iOS feature that would keep my iPad unlocked whenever I was at home.
iPhone/iPad feature idea: never type your password to unlock if you’re at home. If you’re on your home wi-fi, it knows you’re home.

Today, I read about AutoProtect, which does exactly that. Once you set it up with your home network and password, you never have to type in your password at home again.
AutoProtect is only available for jailbroken iPhones. I haven’t jailbroken my iPhone or iPad yet, but simple features like this tempt me to try.
iJailBreak says where to find the tweak once you download it from Cydia:
“AutoProtect is FREE system tweak for iOS devices. It can be found in Cydia under the ModMyi repository, and does not install a SpringBoard icon. To activate AutoProtect, go into Settings, and AutoProtect should be sorted in with the other Cydia apps,”
Not the first
The idea isn’t new. A similar tweak called CleverPin came out last year. What’s the difference?
CleverPin includes more features and costs $2.99. AutoProtect is free and only performs this simple task of unlocking your iOS device on your home network.
