Xbox LIVE has been around for a while now and for as long as I can remember it hasn’t changed its prices. It has been $59.99 for a year’s subscription. I’ve often asked myself if it’s worth it. I’ve been a member now for over a year and I can say it definitely has been worth it, but it should still be a little cheaper.
On Xbox Live you can download apps like YouTube, Netflix and other media to have that media streamed right through your TV. If you’re not a huge online gamer, the thing you’ll find most useful on Xbox LIVE would be Netflix. Here you can stream endless movies and TV shows through Netflix’s Instant program. The biggest reason people pay for Xbox LIVE is because of the online gaming. Games like Halo and Call of Duty are pretty worthless without online competition. The online experience is the reason those games are so popular. Online gaming is probably the most entertaining thing you can do on Xbox LIVE.
The only thing that bothers me about subscribing to Xbox LIVE is the price. I could buy a brand new game for my Xbox or food for a month with that money. People who are considering subscribing to Xbox LIVE should know it’s worth it for the Netflix and if you’re a gamer, it’s worth it for the games. With most games going online anyway, it would be worth subscribing to Xbox LIVE for a month and if you don’t think it’s worth $59.99 a year, it might be a smart choice not to subscribe.
