Jerry Seinfeld Online

Jerry Seinfeld, one of the most popular comedians of all time, has launched a website dedicated to housing all of his performances throughout the years. And this website, JerrySeinfeld.com, was officially launched the last Friday morning.

This site went live with three very funny, and very memorable clips: “The Fattest Man in the World” from an episode in 1981 of The Tonight Show, a clip from the 1988 HBO special “Do the Horses Know They’re Racing?” and “No Room in the Newspaper” from The Tonight Show in 1990.

Instead of posting everything online at once, this site is taking a unique approach. The makers of JerrySeinfeld.com have decided to launch only three new clips, that range from 30 seconds to 2 minutes, each day. The clips will be available for twenty-four hours and then replaced by the three new clips the next day.

On his site, Seinfeld explains that he launched the site hoping to help out aspiring comedians by posting his own work. Here is what he had to say:

“When I was ten years old, I started watching stand up comedians on TV. I fell in love with them and I’m just as fascinated with stand up comedy today. Somewhere out there are ten year olds just waiting to get hooked on this strange pursuit. This is for them. I’m just hoping somehow it will keep this silliness going.”

Who wouldn’t love this site? I only with that all of the clips could be available at once. But I guess this is a marketing strategy to get people coming back regularly. Either way, I think this site will be treasured, if not helpful, to many Seinfeld fans.
