The New Nexus 7 Will be Available Next Tuesday At Best Buy

Last week, I told you to expect the new version of Google’s Nexus 7 tablet to be announced this week. We also shared some possible release dates and specs from leaked ads from Staples. Today, we’ve got one more for you: Best Buy will also be a launch partner for the new Nexus 7, making it available next Tuesday, July 30th. The 16gb model will sell for $229,  but they make no mention in their weekly print ad of the 32gb we’ve also heard about (expected to be $269).

Also worthy of note – you can see from the photo (and other leaked images) the wallpaper is different from the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean wallpaper. This is one of the main clues we’ll see the next version of Android, version 4.3, released at the same time. We’ll find out this Wednesday during the “Breakfast with Sundar Puchai”, Google’s head of Android and Chrome.

Over the weekend, we also found what looks like a final press render of the Nexus 7, courtesy of @evleaks. It shows the front and back, including the new rear-facing 5mp camera, and two rear speakers. You can also see Asus has done away with the textured rubber on the back and changed the orientation of the Nexus logo. Here’s that image.

Lastly, they confirm the 1920 x 1200 screen resolution we’ve long expected. That amounts to 1920 x 1080 for you to use, with 120 pixels on the bottom for the Android navigation buttons (Home, Back, App Switcher). You can see the image of next week’s Best Buy circular below.
