Samsung and Apple both make amazing devices. We want them fighting each other in the marketplace, not the courtroom

Eight more patents Samsung? Really?

I am not sure there are many economic drains as painful as the current patent system. Samsung and Apple are in a bitter patent war.

Confused?

Samsung is one of Apple’s largest suppliers of components for it’s devices. In fact, it’s Samsung that supplies the storage space for iOS devices.

The two companies warfare includes 20 cases in 10 countries, and the trial is scheduled for July in the United States.

Apple and Samsung CEOs have agreed to meet and discuss the patents, and possible settlements the companies might agree on. Those talks were agreed on back on the 17th, and have a 90-day deadline.

Not confused yet? Despite this meeting for settlement talks, Samsung has asserted an additional 8 patents against Apple as of the 19th.

End it please

These should be our two favorite companies in mobile. These are the guys making the best phones, and the best user experiences. Whether you’re an iOS guy and don’t want to admit it, or an Android guy and really don’t want to admit it, (and let’s face it, none of you are Windows Phone 7 guys), Samsung and Apple are both making amazing devices.

We don’t want them fighting each other in the courtroom – trying to win the judges over with compelling arguments. We want them fighting each other in the marketplace – trying to win us over with compelling products.

This is a waste of precious time, attention, and resources. What do we have to do to stop the madness?
