#SWSLC presents Cinch – makes life a bit more mobile-friendly

Okay, so Startup Weekend just happened. Each of the teams picked a problem, and a solution, and attempted, in only 48 hours to build a company.

One of the best groups – thanks to a VERY polished execution, and a gorgeous design – was an app called Cinch Tool.

What is it?

Cinch Tool creates mobile-friendly views of complicated web pages. Start delivering simple, authentic versions of your content to mobile visitors today.

The point of the app is more for online marketers, turning e-commerce sites into mobile landing pages for later use.

Standard links… Cinch it up

What they do is ‘Cinch’ a site on the fly. So you can send a standard link to everyone on your mailing list, and then, when it gets clicked, the app determines wether they’re on a mobile device or desktop, and if it’s mobile they ‘Cinch’ up the site to an easy to read, and beautiful mobile version.

Cinch Tool was conceived and forged by the mighty fingers of 8 relentless entrepenuers in under 48 hours as part of Startup Weekend Salt Lake City.

A lot of the teams had great ideas. Most of them had a good presentation. Only a few of them were able to actually show off a product that was useful, functional, and well designed.

Sticky

Cinch Tool team was able to create a product quickly, and they were able to find customers for that product right off the bat. They may not have won the hearts of the judges, but I think that in the long run, these guys will prove to be the stickiest of the bunch.
