You’ve likely heard of acquisitions made by all three of these companies. Facebook has purchased three notable companies, lately: Instagram, WhatsApp, and just this week, Titan Aerospace. Twitter has picked up TweetDeck, Vine, and Summify. Google? Well, Google hasn’t stopped buying up companies since the beginning. In fact, the big G makes up more than 150 of the 210 companies purchased between the three.
Our friend and former ZAGG marketing guru, Drew Conrad, put together this map detailing where each of the 210 companies were headquartered prior to their acquisition. Some of them still remain there, while others have been completely absorbed by their new parent company and have set up shop in Mountain View, Menlo Park, or San Francisco.
Drew created the map using Google’s Maps Engine, which I’ve talked about before. It’s a great way to quickly and easily create custom maps. The map is interactive, so you can zoom in and look at specific locations. Head on over to see what corners of the world these companies originated in.
