There is only so much you can say in 2+ hours. That was the case at Apple’s annual World Wide Developers Conference keynote on Monday as the technology company highlighted the many changes and upgrades to their mobile OS, iOS 7 along with other Mac software and hardware announcements. What was left out though? What did Apple not talk about that you have to look forward to? Below are a few highlights from the b-roll:
Spotlight from Any Screen: No more taking the long swipe journey to the far left to access Spotlight, the iOS search feature. Now users simply need to swipe down on any home screen in the general center of the screen and the search feature will appear.
Inclinometer: Another app bites the dust with Apple embracing an inclinometer (measures tilt, think a level…that thing with the bubble in it) in its compass app. Level apps will have to step up their game for user attention…however you do that with a level app.
Turn by Turn Walking Directions: Tired of the Maps app telling you to take the I-95 when you don’t have a car and simply want to walk? Well, with iOS 7, built in walking instructions will be available for “at your own risk” pleasure.
Those are just a few of the gems to be featured in iOS 7. You can read about more of them here.
Are there any features you wanted that you got? Any that you are still longing for? Sound off in the comments.
