This App Lets You Share Your Day With GIFs

The idea of journal or record keeping is no new notion among humankind.  Recently, however, we’ve found new ways to share our days and the events found within.  Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram all focus heavily on these moments.  On Friday, a new app called Days, by Wander (iOS), was released.  If you already thought the app market was flooded with photo and life sharing creations, once you see Days, you’ll realize there’s always room for one more when it adds what you didn’t even realize you were missing.

New users will have fun documenting their days with easily made gifs.  When taking photos, you an choose to snap away in quick succession in order to create a gif, take a single snap, or later edit a gif into a still shot.  You won’t find any fancy filters or captions on each image as the purpose is to focus on living your life and quickly documenting it rather than spending time editing it.

One of my favorite aspects is the simple organization to it.  Each day is clearly marked with date and each “moment” with a time stamp.  One of the main ideas of Days is that you take as many photos as you want and then decide which ones to remove, not which to share.  The app shares your “day” at once, preventing an overshare stream of 50 images throughout the day.  In its beta usage, parents with young children were considered a primary user.  Days does not prevent you from sharing with friends who don’t have the app.  You can share with anyone through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, text, or email.  It is important to note that you have to take your photos through the app.  However, they will also live in your camera roll – so you don’t have to worry about losing them.

Oh, and don’t forget about the fun emoji-powered commenting.  Just a little cherry for your already heaping hot fudge sundae.
