In 2008 Armin Heinrich launched a $999.99 app in the iPhone app store called I am Rich. The app’s only true purpose was to tell people that you are rich. The official app description stated, “The red icon on your iPhone or iPod Touch always reminds you (and others when you show it to them) that you were able to afford this. It’s a work of art with no hidden function at all.” The app was pulled from Apple’s App Store shortly after it launched. Eight iPhone users downloaded the app before it was banned.
Currently, available from Google Play, you can download the app I’m Richer Than You for your Android device. It costs $131.25. This app’s official description reads, “Show your friends how rich you are with this app. It’s useless, it only shows a cow mooing, but at least it’s much funnier than other “I’m rich” apps out there.”
The truth is, I’m Richer Than You is the is the perfect app for the Android device user who is looking to flaunt their riches in a unique and creative way. Likewise, until Apple allows its iPhone counterpart in the App Store, there is no solution for iPhone users who need to solve this problem.
