“The device is more stable than we anticipated.” – that’s Frank Sickinger, the head of business sales for T-Mobile here in the U.S., talking about the BlackBerry Z10. T-Mobile has been testing the Z10 and hopes to be the first carrier “out of the gate” with it here in the States.
As for an actual release date? It isn’t set in stone just yet, but Magenta is aiming for mid-March. However, Sickinger continues: “If we are able to speed up the launch date, we will do that.” There’s been no word so far from Sprint, AT&T or Verizon on when they plan to release the Z10. Currently, the BlackBerry Z10 is available for sale in the U.K. and Canada. BlackBerry has stayed mum about actual sales figures, but said the release date in Canada was the largest in company history, surpassing previous records by 50%. Whether that’s 50% of 5 phones or 50% of 500,000 phones, we don’t yet know.
One thing I do know: I’m anxiously awaiting our review unit’s arrival. I have high hopes for BlackBerry with BB10, and I’ll be sure to let you know when it arrives. If you’re one of our many Canadian or U.K. readers and you’ve already got your hands on one, let me know on Twitter: @mbchp.
