Whether you just got an iPhone for Christmas, or you’ve had one since the beginning, this post is all about the things that will help you get the most out of your iPhone. Some you’d probably expect to see here, and a couple you may not have heard of before.
If you’re interested in taking more creative photos with your iPhone, check out the Olloclip – a three-part lens system that clips right onto your phone over the camera. With this $69 gadget, you’ll be able to shoot fisheye-style photos, macro photos up close, as well as wide-angle shots that your iPhone can’t ordinarily capture. I’ve also found the wide angle lens and fisheye lens to be useful for capturing video, as well. The company offers a model for the iPhone 4 / 4S as well as the iPhone 5, both priced at $69.
2. Speaker Dock
Whether you’re looking for a speaker system for your office, or at home, there are a variety of options out there for speaker docks. Nearly all of them will charge your phone while simultaneously blasting your tunes through their built-in speakers. They’re handy and give you much better quality sound and volume than your iPhone will on its own. We’ve seen these range in price from $50 on up to several thousand. If you’re still on the fence about which one you should buy, we’d first point you towards the Boost Plus, which runs $59 and works with nearly any smartphone on the market today.
If you disregard everything else on this list, you’ve got to check out the ZAGGsparq. We’ve all found ourselves with a dead battery, which is almost never convenient, regardless of when it happens. There are three models to choose from, and they range in price from $39 up to $99. Whichever one you go with, this will be the one gadget (besides your phone) you won’t leave home without.
4. Square Card Reader
What’s unique about the Square card reader? First of all, it’s the only item on this list that you can get for free. And who would want one? Square is ideal for small businesses, freelancers, consultants, or any organization who needs to process payments in the field. Think: photographers, coffee shops, food trucks, artists, musicians.. the list goes on. Square will send you the card reader, which plugs into your iPhone, free of charge. The only thing you pay is when you use it. And speaking of which, when you use Square to swipe a customer / client’s credit or debit card, the money will be deposited directly to your bank account, less 2.75%, within a few days.
And of course, last but definitely not least, we’ve got to put a plug in for the most well-known, well-loved screen protector in the world: the invisibleSHIELD. How do you know it’s solid? More than 50 million of them have been sold. It comes with a lifetime warranty (!) and several choices of finish. They’re available for every model of iPhone ever made. And, for a limited time as of this writing, they’re buy one, get one free.
