Few things catch my attention more than the lure of nostalgia. Although I’m a self-proclaimed tech geek who loves to have the latest devices, I’m also a sucker for items that remind me of my childhood. This ’80s cell phone case caught my eye on Pinterest, and I clicked over the the Urban Outfitters website where it is available to purchase.
“Guys, the 80′s called and they’re ready to rock your world again,” states the product description for this flexible silicone case. The brick phone case is compatible with iPhone 3, 3GS, 4, and 4S devices. The 80′s cell phone case retails for $20.00.
Unfortunately, the bulkiness of the case prevent you from using the headphone jack, locking the phone, taking pictures from the back camera, and plugging the phone into a charger. Luckily, the silicone case slides on and off easily, allowing access to all phone features.
A review of the product on the Urban Outfitters website states:
“I love this phone case!!! I get at least 18 compliments a day by random people everywhere. Totally screams “Look at me! Look at me!!!!”. I love that. The only problem is that you can’t take pictures, you can’t lock it, and it’s a little echo-y when making calls (for both ends) but other than that, I give it an 8 1/2. Definitely recommend it to anyone interested in purchasing it.”
Whether you use the case for sentimental value, street cred, or as a prop in a John Hughes film remake, you’ll be able to channel your inner Zack Morris while still being able to use apps, send text messages, and place phone calls.
What do you think of this totally rad iPhone case?
