invisibleSHIELD® Application Instructions using Spray bottle

BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Turn your device off, and remove the battery if possible. Wash your hands (and fingertips!) thoroughly.
	Step 1: In order to avoid putting fingerprints on your invisibleSHIELD®, wet your fingertips with application solution before handling it.
	Step 2: When applicable, remove the cover sheet from the front of the invisibleSHIELD. Peel the invisibleSHIELD off its backing.
	Step 3: Hold the invisibleSHIELD in your hand, adhesive side up. Moisten the front and back sides of the invisibleSHIELD with application solution. Be sure to dampen the invisibleSHIELD, NOT your device.
	Step 4: Apply the invisibleSHIELD to your device, adhesive side down, and slide into place.

	Step 5: Using the included squeegee, push the excess moisture and any bubbles away form the center towards the edges, and away from any open or uncovered ports.
	Step 6: Soak up any excess moisture with a lint-free cloth (recommended) or paper towel. Please leave your device off for 12 to 24 hours. Micro-bubbles and imperfections will work themselves out in two to three days.
	HELPFUL TIPS: For challenging tabs and flaps that wrap around the sides or over corners, we recommend first holding the tab or flap in place against the device using your palm (or thumb, for small pieces) until it is secure. Once it feels secure, use a blow dryer on a LOW, COOL setting to dry the pieces into place. Ensure the small parts are as dry as possible before applying them. If they get too moist, let them dry for a few minutes before placing them on your device. This will make them tackier and easier to position correctly.
We recommend letting your device sit overnight before turning it back on (12-24 hours is suggested). This will give the invisibleSHIELD® time to "set" properly, and allow any remaining SHIELDSpray™ solution on your device to fully dry.

invisibleSHIELD® Application Instructions using Sponge

	Step 1: Turn your device off, and remove the battery if possible. Wash your hands (and fingertips!) thoroughly.
	Step 2: Using the lint free cloth, wipe off your device.
	Step 3: Sponge your finger tips with Application solution before handling the invisibleSHIELD® to avoid putting finger prints on it.
	Step 4: Peel the invisibleSHIELD® off its paper backing.
	Step 5: Hold the invisibleSHIELD® in your hand, adhesive side up. Lightly sponge the back side of the invisibleSHIELD® with Application Solution. Be sure to wet the invisibleSHIELD®, NOT your device.
	Step 6: Apply the invisibleSHIELD® to your device, adhesive side down, and slide into place.

	Step 7: Using the sponge, wet the front on the invisibleSHIELD.
	Step 8: Using the included squeegee (or any stiff PLASTIC card), push the excess moisture and any bubbles away from the center towards the edges, and away from any open or uncovered ports. All remaining micro bubbles will dissipate within 24 hours.

Special Installation Tips

Cleanliness

For the best possible results, wash your hands before beginning and perform the installation in a clean area. Make sure your device is clean and free of skin oils.

Alignment

Alignment is one of the most important aspects to your invisibleSHIELD looking "perfect" once it is on the device, and we recommend checking where each piece goes prior to installation. Please check the product pages on our website, as many of our full body designs have coverage information for each individual design. If the invisibleSHIELD has multiple holes for buttons, we recommend aligning to the top first, then the sides, and finally the bottom. Check the overall alignment as carefully as possible prior to using the squeegee.

Use of a lamp

Using a lamp as a very low source of heat can help speed up the installation process, particularly for some of the more complex invisibleSHIELD designs. A lamp with an extendable arm, such as an office lamp, can be used to slightly heat the invisibleSHIELD and help it to adhere. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND LEAVING YOUR DEVICE UNDER HEAT FOR ANY EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, WHICH COULD DAMAGE THE ELECTRONICS.

"Palming"

Our installers use a technique for securing problematic corners and edges called "palming." Begin by aligning the invisibleSHIELD in the correct position and removing as much of the excess moisture as possible. Then, apply pressure to the tabs and flaps by holding them against the palm of your hand for 30 seconds to 1 minute. This process may need to be repeated several times, but will help secure difficult pieces.

Blow Dryer

A blow dryer is also very useful for corners, tabs, and edges when installing the invisibleSHIELD. The best method is to put the blow dryer on the lowest and coolest setting, and use a side-to-side sweeping motion to dry the piece or section. If the blow dryer is on a warm or hot setting it can slightly warp the invisibleSHIELD. If this does happen, discontinue using the blow dryer and the invisibleSHIELD should return to the proper shape in 10 to 15 minutes.

Installation Order

Installing the back piece(s) of a full body invisibleSHIELD first can be helpful if you have not done it before. Installation flaws on the back of a device may not be as significant or noticeable as they would on the screen, so you can use it as practice, or to better understand the installation process.

Installation FAQ

• My SHIELD won't stick on the corners, what do I do?
• My solution bottle came empty or leaked. How can I get more?
• Some of these pieces are so little! How do I put them on?
• How long after installing the invisibleSHIELD can I safely remove and reinstall it?

Q: My SHIELD won't stick on the corners, what do I do?

A: Leave your device (with the SHIELD on it) alone for 10-15 minutes, and then try to stick it down. If it still doesn't stick, give it a few more minutes and try again. Repeat this process as needed. We recommend this 10-15 minute wait period because the invisibleSHIELD will dry out and become more tacky if you wait any longer and you will, most likely, not be able re-apply it at that point.

Q: My solution bottle came empty or leaked. How can I get more?

A: Our SHIELDSpray™ application solution is mostly a water-based solution, so if your bottle doesn't have solution in it, we suggest just filling it up with water. There is usually enough residue left in the bottle from the original solution, so just filling it up with water again should make it work just fine! If you run out during the installation, you can still refill the bottle up to 2-3 more times and still have the same effect.

Q: Some of these pieces are so little! How do I put them on?

A: While keeping your fingers moist, carefully pick up the SHIELD on an edge and lightly mist it before laying it down on the device. If these pieces become especially wet, they might not start to stick for a few minutes. If this does happen, please be patient in waiting for them to dry, and stick. See "Special Tips" for more information.

Q: How long after installing the invisibleSHIELD can I safely remove and reinstall it?

A: Within 3-5 minutes. If you do need to take the SHIELD off for reinstallation, we suggest keeping your fingers wet and very carefully removing the SHIELD (so you don't stretch it). After this, you can reapply it to the device as normal.
