The ultimate rule of thumb for affiliate success using social media outlets is having your friends and followers ENGAGED. The majority of us have a facebook page, twitter account, and/or Youtube Channel for our personal use, but have you been utilizing these outlets for your affiliate success?

Creating a Business Page

Login to your profile
On the Home page, click Pages & Ads
Create Page
Fill in all information and then be sure to share it with all of your friends
Be sure to write on your page's wall with engaging information including your affiliate link to ZAGG
Once you have 25 fans, you can then customize your page's URL

Continually Engage Your Audience

Be sure to write valuable content on your page's wall
Ask questions that will trigger responses
Hold contests
Be creative

Gaining Followers

DO NOT SPAM
If you are new to twitter, but have a facebook page, write on your wall and invite your facebook followers to follow you on twitter
It is always good to talk about current events trending events to gain more followers, especially trends that have to do with technology, cell phones, electronics, etc
Tweet valuable content and encourage your followers to retweet your tweet
Include hash tags (putting a number sign directly in front of a word - #ZAGG) in your tweets: A hash tag will trigger your tweet to show if anyone searches for that specific term:
- For example: The #invisibleSHIELD is the best protection any #phone could ever ask for. #ZAGG has really outdone themselves!
- Now, when anyone searches for any of these bolded terms, your tweet will show up and if it has value, people will follow you
Retweet @ZAGGDAILY to get more followers
Include affiliate links in tweets:
- When you are tweeting about ZAGG or our individual products, be sure to include your affiliate link directly back to our website. Sometimes this link can get long, so we suggest to use http://www.bit.ly
- This is a service where you can shorten your affiliate link since the number of characters is limited using Twitter.
- Once you make an account with bit.ly, put your affiliate link in
Engage your followers:
- Always encourage your followers to retweet your tweets by creating valuable tweets that people will want to share

YouTube Strategy

Utilizing Video

Create a YouTube account if you do not already have one
Create a YouTube channel that goes along with your account
Be sure to create a title to your video that is keyword-rich, filled with the keywords that your viewers will be searching for
After creating your video and before publishing it, we recommend that you include a live link in the description area of your video. Be sure to write out the entire link with your affiliate code embedded like "http://www.zagg.com"
We recommend to put the link first as the default view of the description has a limit of characters that are viewable
Add an annotation to your video giving your viewers instructions to do something. In the example to the right it is to "click here" or to direct the user to "click the link in the description," etc
In your video, encourage your readers to subscribe to your channel -creatively- don't plead!
