Customer Questions
How do I use the powerstation AC battery’s AC port to charge my laptop?

Open the powerstation AC battery’s AC port cover, press the AC charging button for 3 seconds (the AC charging LED will light) and connect your laptop charger or other device within 30 seconds to begin charging.

IMPORTANT: The powerstation AC battery’s AC port is compatible with 110V devices that are rated up to 100W. Do not connect a device that is rated at more than 100W.

Can the powerstation AC battery charge multiple devices at once?

Yes, you can connect devices to all three of the powerstation AC battery’s output ports at the same time. The AC output port has priority, and if power is still available, the USB-C port will receive power, followed by the USB-A port. (For example, if a connected device is pulling the full 100 watts from the powerstation AC battery’s AC port, the USB-C and USB-A ports will shut off.)

Can I charge my USB-C laptop from the powerstation AC battery’s USB-C port?

Absolutely. The powerstation AC battery supports the USB-PD (Power Delivery) Specification, providing the increased power levels (up to 30W) necessary to fully charge a USB-C laptop such as the Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro from its USB-C port. The powerstation AC battery can provide up to 14 hours of extra battery for a MacBook computer.

Can I recharge the powerstation AC battery from a USB-C laptop’s USB-C port?

You can recharge the powerstation AC battery from a USB-C laptop’s USB-C port only when the laptop is also connected to its wall charger. After connecting the battery to the laptop’s USB-C port you must press-and-hold the powerstation AC battery’s status button for 3 seconds. The powerstation AC battery will then receive the charger from the wall charger through the laptop. If you do not press-and-hold the status button in this situation, the powerstation AC battery will not recharge and it will not charge the laptop.

Does the powerstation AC battery provide fault protection while using the AC port?

Yes. The powerstation AC battery’s AC output port is GFCI protected. If a fault is detected the AC output port will immediately shut off and the AC charging button LED will turn off.

Can I charge my device while recharging the powerstation AC battery (Priority+ pass-through charging)?

Yes. When you’re recharging your powerstation AC battery (via its USB-C port), Priority+ pass-through charging first provides power to a device connected to its USB-A port first, before the powerstation AC battery starts to recharge.

Can I use the supplied USB-C to USB-A cable to charge my USB-C laptop from the powerstation AC battery’s USB-A port?

Do not connect a USB-C laptop to the powerstation AC battery’s USB-A port — the laptop’s USB-C port cannot negotiate with the battery’s USB-A port, so it cannot charge from the USB-A port. The USB-C to USB-A cable is supplied with the powerstation AC battery so you can recharge it from a high-output USB-A wall charger.

How can I tell how much charge my powerstation AC battery has?

Momentarily press the status button on your powerstation AC battery and the status LEDs will indicate its charge level. Four LEDs means that the battery is fully charged, while one LED means that it’s almost empty. Know before you go!

Will the powerstation AC battery charge my tablet or smartphone?

You bet. The powerstation AC battery will charge a USB-C smartphone at super-fast speeds via the USB-C port, and it also has a USB-A output port (up to 12W) that is compatible with just about any tablet, smartphone, or other USB device. For example, the powerstation AC battery can provide up to 100 hours of extra battery for iPhone 7, and up to 20 hours of extra battery for iPad Air 2.

How many times can I recharge my powerstation AC battery?

You can recharge your powerstation AC battery for over 500 full cycles. A full cycle is when you recharge the battery from 0% to 100%. Partial cycles, like charging from 25% to 100%, will not count as a full cycle until all of the partials equal 100%. After 500 full cycles, the powerstation AC battery may provide less than 75% of its original capacity. This is normal for any product with a lithium polymer battery.

Once I connect my device to one of the powerstation AC battery’s USB ports, how do I start charging?

Once you connect your device to the powerstation AC battery’s USB-C or USB-A port, charging begins automatically.
