Two Modes Make You Mobile
The Rugged Messenger gives you total versatility when it comes to being productive on the go. Because it has two modes—keyboard and case—you don’t need to invest in extra accessories. The stainless steel frame under the keyboard provides a solid surface for typing as well as extra protection for your device.
Case Mode protects your iPad from scratches and dings while you're on the go.
Keyboard Mode makes typing fast and comfortable by offering a large typing area and backlit, laptop-style keys.
Multi-Device for a “Multi-Life”
You connect to your world in multiple ways. Multi-device pairing capability lets you connect to two devices simultaneously, such as your phone and your tablet, and switch back and forth between them effortlessly.
Looking at it From a Different Angle
Magnets in the built-in stand secure your device at multiple viewing angles to accommodate your activities.
Type With the Ease of Laptop-Style Keys
Nothing puts your productivity on pause like an awkward, cramped typing experience. The Messenger’s improved, responsive keys let you type with the speed and ease of a laptop.
Light Up the Night
Life doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. The keys on the Rugged Messenger are backlit—in seven colors—which allows you to keep going, even in low-light conditions.
The rechargeable battery keeps you typing for up to two years between charges*, and the sleep/wake function helps preserve battery life when your keyboard is not in use.

Reviews & Questions
Rugged Messenger for the Apple iPad Pro 10.5-inch is rated out of 5 by 4.Rated 5 out of 5 by Bluejean from great features I feel my iPad Pro is protected by well. My iPad is secureDate published: 2017-08-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Kristens from Overall the best Protection for the iPad Pro 10.5 This rugged messenger is by far the best concept for a rugged case from Zagg, it works far better then the older model rugged books, its magnetic set up seems to work far better and superior then the older models with the hinges.Date published: 2017-08-10
Does this one sit well in laps like the hinged clamshell ones? I've owned six clamshell ones and they are they best. Do you have plans to make that type of model for the 10.5 iPad Pro?The Rugged Messenger should fit comfortably on your lap. Does the case (with iPad) fully detach from the keyboard?I have this keyboard. Yes, the case with iPad does fully detach.Date published: 2017-08-11
What does mean that the battery lasts two years? It will only work for that period of time? Thank you!The rechargeable battery keeps you typing for up to two years between charges, and the sleep/wake function helps preserve battery life when your keyboard is not in use. This is based on regular use of one hour per day.Date published: 2017-09-14
Does the rugged case muffle speakers? I don't see speaker holes. There are no holes, but there are channels that direct the sound toward the front of the screen. The sound quality is just as good if not better than if there were open holes on the side.Date published: 2017-08-30
When removed from the keyboard, is the protective case compatible with the Apple Smart Cover? Thanks for reaching out! This question is better directed for Apple, as they know the specifics for their device compatibility.Date published: 2017-09-15
Will I be able to use the stand in portrait mode at multiple angles while still using the keyboard?I have this keyboard. There is no magnet on the bottom in portrait mode, so it won’t stand up at all in portrait.Date published: 2017-09-08
I have a keyboard case for an iPad Air 2. The swivel mechanism is now very difficult to operate and the iPad keeps falling out of the holder. Please advise if this can be remedied to return it to the original state? We suggest contacting Technical Support at 800-70-9244 as they can best advise.Date published: 2017-09-13
Please answer about why bluetooth. I have this keyboard. The way the iPad magnetizes is almost exactly like Apple’s Smart Keyboard. So why not use the Smart Connector? Would be quick, easy connectivity. No need to charge the keyboard. ZAGG dissapoints. :(One difference with the Apple Smart Keyboard is that it doesn’t include a protective case that covers the whole iPad. For ZAGG’s keyboard there would need to be a pass through from the iPad’s Smart Connector inside of the case to go through to the keyboard on the outside of the case. Logitech handles this by exposing the entire side of the iPad with its case, but I wouldn’t want to have the side of my iPad exposed. Maybe this is the answer to my own question. Not so disappointing after all. :)Date published: 2017-08-26
